On 18 December 2019, Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence (CoE) at Kobe University organised the second cultural event "the end and beginning of the year in Europe" in Room 503 of Academia Hall for Social Sciences in Rokkodai campus of Kobe University.
　Two students presented their seasonal customs and traditions in Czech Republic and the United Kingdom respectively. The event was attended by 23 students who enjoyed tasting traditional patisseries such as Panettone in Italy and Czech cookies. Students also tried to eat up 12 grapes within a minute of ringing a bell for 12 times as part of the Spanish New Year's tradition to have 12 months of good luck.
　The event provided students with a good opportunity to get to know the heritage and diversity of European culture. Our Jean Monnet CoE will continue to organise the cultural events so that our students can experience European cultural traditions and be better prepared for their future studies in Europe.
