On 28 October 2020, 9 participants joined the EU Debate Club to discuss about job opportunities for extra-EU people in the EU. The meeting was held with EUIJ Kansai through ZOOM and was structured as follows:
1.Professor Massimiliano Porto introduced the topic and the outline of the discussion.
2.Participants were introduced to the website EURES to screen job opportunities in the EU.
We read and discussed some opportunities that required the knowledge of Japanese language.
3.Participants were introduced to the VISA application procedure - Blue Card. We compared data
for Visa application for countries such as France, Germany and Italy.
4.Finally, participants were divided in smaller groups to discuss about their desired working
experience in Europe.
From the discussion it emerged that most of the students plan to study in Europe. Consequently, the resources discussed during the Debate Club may turn useful for them because they can apply for a working experience during their studies in Europe - such as part-time job or internships - or after their graduation.
