EU Debate Club "Which European country do you admire most and why? " was held on 25 April
Data on the top 10 most visited European countries and the top 10 countries for moving abroad shows us that Spain, Great Britain and Germany rank high in both categories. A student who had previously visited Britain reflected on her travel and homestay experience, and our debate shifted to exploring interesting cultural similarities and differences between Britain and Japan. For example, both countries have a high amount of respect for their history and cultural traditions and there is a free admission to museums (such as the British Museum) in Britain. Finally, we noted that many Japanese students tend to learn English from American teachers and we pointed out that despite sharing the same English language, there are quite a few differences between the British and American culture.
