EU Debate Club "Is the EU more popular with young people than with older generations?" will be held!
On 23 June 2016 Britain voted to leave the EU. The national referendum showed a clear generational divide: while 73% of young people (18-24 yrs old) voted to Remain in the EU, people
of older age groups (45yrs and over) predominantly voted to Leave
the EU.
Can we then say that the EU is in general more popular
with young people who tend to see mainly the opportunities of free
travel, study and work across the EU? Is it also true that only
older generations tend to have a negative view of the EU?
On the other hand, there are some EU countries where all age
groups strongly support the EU and its policies.
Join us for the English debate and let us hear what you think about
the age divide over the EU.
