Another session of the EU Debate Club was held on 19 July 2016 in the Common Room. Five participants first discussed the reasons for populism in the EU and then had a free discussion of some possible advantages of populism on one hand and its negative implications on the other hand. Thanks to a short talk and presentation by a Belgian student, students had a valuable opportunity to hear about public perception of the EU in Belgium and why the influence of populist parties there had been declining. In the questionnaire afterwards participants evaluated this event very positively.
