On 19 October 2016, EU Debate Student Club (organised by Jean Monnet CoE and co-organised by EUIJ-Kansai) was held in Room 403 of Frontier Building in Rokkodai campus of Kobe University.
6 participants first discussed what exactly affects European people's perceptions of the EU and whether people's age is a factor influencing these perceptions. The debate also gave participants an opportunity to hear from a German student about how the views of young people and older generations differ in Germany. Participants then freely discussed the role of media in influencing people's opinions in both EU and Japan.
While discussing the debate topic, all participants expressed clearly their opinions; therefore this was a valuable experience of English debating practice.
