Mini Symposium for Hyogo High School Students was held on 21 December, 2016

On Wednesday 21 December, 2016, Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence organised a Mini Symposium for Hyogo High School students. The event was held at the Sysmex Hall (Kusunoki Auditorium) of Kobe University. There were three lectures in the Mini Symposium. First, Mr. Johannes Schweizer (Senior Specialist from the Consulate General of Germany in Osaka and Kobe) delivered a lecture entitled "EU and Germany". Next, Prof. Akihiro Okada (Graduate School of Human Development and Environment, Kobe University) gave a lecture entitled "UK-Brexit and Immigration". Finally, Professor Ro Osawa (Graduate School of Agricultural Science, Kobe University) delivered a lecture entitled "Food Safety Measures based on what we learned from Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli". The Mini Symposium was attended by more than 136 students of the school.
Hyogo High School is selected as a SGH (Super Global High School) and these lectures addressed some of the SGH research themes. Thanks to this topical orientation, students actively listened to the lectures and raised many relevant questions.
Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence of Kobe University will regularly organise mini symposia for high school students.
