On 19 January 2017, EU Debate Student Club was held in the Common Room of Frontier Building in Rokkodai campus of Kobe University.
7 participants discussed major political and economic changes that are generally expected after the new US president Trump takes office, for instance withdrawal from the TPP, restrictive immigration policies and a new stance towards the climate change.
Open discussion and discussion in pairs were insightful, as students actively shared their views on what Trump's policies would mean for the EU, especially in terms of politics, security and trade relations.
EU Debate Club continues to be a very effective way to get students involved in a debate where they can express their own ideas about current EU-related topics.
