Another session of the EU Debate Student Club was held on 17 May 2017 in the Common Room.
Discussion topic was "Should the EU try harder to attract highly skilled foreign labourers?" and six participants first looked at some general advantages of attracting highly skilled labour.
Participants also checked data on the type of jobs which are in shortage in Europe and concluded that the main problem in job shortages appears to be a lack of people who possess the right skills.
Finally, the debate focused on some measures which the EU can take to address the job shortages and participants also discussed whether Japan should be more proactive in attracting foreign labour.
