About EUIJ-Kansai

General Objectives of the Project

The EUIJ-Kansai is a consortium of three, Kobe University (Co-ordinating university), Kwansei Gakuin University and Osaka University. It was established on 1 April 2005 with financial support from the European Commission, the executive branch of the EU, in order to contribute to strengthening the ties between Japan and the EU by promoting educational and academic interactions, enhancing public relations and sending out information.
Amid the accelerating speed of EU integration, and the increasingly enhanced role of the EU around the world, the Japanese public however, has not yet reached a satisfactory understanding of the EU.
Considering the importance of these activities, we are proud of having commenced the Phase-Ⅳ on 1 April 2016.

The EUIJ-Kansai, intends to develop the following broad activities

To become an EU educational and academic centre

Offering extensive EU-related courses through credit-transfer among the 3 universities, the EUIJ-Kansai awards Certificates to students who have successfully completed the stipulated EU courses.

To become a source of EU information

In close collaboration with the Delegation of the European Union to Japan, the EUIJ-Kansai collects useful information, and widely distributes them not only to universities but also to general public by utilising the EUIJ-Kansai website and other various programmes.
