Academic English Intensive Course Spring 2022 was held (16-22 Feb)

Nine first-year undergraduates who would start the KUPES this April participated in the Academic English Intensive Course that was held on ZOOM from 16th to 22nd of February.
The academic English course was taught by four native instructors with good experience in teaching Japanese students. One of the aims of the course was to acquire academic English skills which were prerequisite for the KUPES courses taught in English and for programs to be offered in European partner universities where they would study as exchange students. Another was to prepare for the IELTS exam which was required as part of application for their study abroad.
The students made positive feedbacks, such as: “there were a lot of opportunities to talk entirely in English”, “the teachers led me to actively participate in the class and found it very useful since I had no chance to speak English in my daily life”, “it was quite new experience for me to speak English such a spontaneous way”, “I learned how to compose good sentences and how to structure a presentation in English”. This course enhanced their motivation to start to learn as KUPES students from the new academic year.
