Purpose of faculty exchange overseas education KIBER program is to develop human resources who can work in the global social environment through full-fledged one year exchange overseas education.

  • This not a mere one year overseas education. Curriculum is designed for fully preparing the students before they leave Japan.
  • Global level full-fledged overseas education means aiming to pursue studies with exceptional achievements at the overseas universities.
  • Units earned at the overseas universities are converted to the units required for graduating from Kobe University. Therefore, it is possible to graduate in four years even after one year of overseas education.
  • In 2016, it is already decided that about 10% of 3rd year students of School of Business Administration will go for overseas education for one year.

Building the foundation as a professional who can work at the global level

“Foundation as a professional who can work at the global level” means the following. This program is designed for nurturing these skills.

  • Respect for overseas culture and society
  • Person who can accept and adapt to diversity
  • Self-reliance and independence
  • Communication skills in English

Structured overseas education program

  • This is not a merely one year overseas education. Curriculum is designed to thoroughly equip the students before they leave Japan.
  • In the sense of getting global level overseas education experience, the target is earning units with excellent academic record at overseas universities.
  • Goal is to graduate in four years with one year of overseas education.
  • Goal of the program is to have about 10% students experience overseas education.

International Management 5-year Program KIMERA Program

KIMERA Program (Kobe International Management Education and Research Accelerated Program)

In KIMERA program, students joint KIBER program from their 2nd year at the faculty. For a one year period from their second semester in the 3rd year, students go for overseas education at the overseas partner schools, and after earning the required units for early completion of the program, they graduate from the faculty in 3.5 years. Right after that, they join GMAP in Management – SESAMI Program in fall, which is completely conducted in English at Graduate School of Business Administration, and they earn the master degree in 1.5 years. In KIMERA, students learn general culture and fundamentals of economics in Japanese in the first 2.5 years, and they would then learn specialized economics in English in the next 2.5 years. In total 5 years period, students earn bachelor and master degrees in economics. Purpose of KIMERA program is to develop global highly-specialized human resources in the field of economics.
